Congratulations, winners! Contact ree@thepioneerwoman.com to claim your FitBits! Hope you love them as much as I do.
Note: Because I continue to be obsessed with my FitBit, I’m repeating this giveaway from a few weeks ago!
For those of you who aren’t familiar, a FitBit is a small device you wear on your wrist, in your pocket, on your waistband, in your bra, or somewhere on your person, and it tracks your daily steps, activity level, water you consume (you manually enter this figure), and also tracks the length, restfulness, and restlessness of your sleep.
I first got my FitBit late last summer and hit it hard, really enjoying the info it gave me about my level of activity, which was much lower than I would have guessed, and the amount and quality of sleep I was getting. Then, after some time, I took it off my wrist and went on my book tour, got busy with the holidays, and just now got back into the swing of things a week ago. Since then, I have become consumed with it again—even more than before—and it has helped me not just increase my activity level…but also shed a few pounds right off the bat!
Here’s an example of the info it gives you. (I’m also entering my daily weight, which I’ve conveniently hidden in this screenshot! Ha.) You can sync the FitBit to an app on your phone and get real-time updates throughout the day about how close you are to meeting your daily goal (my daily goal is 10,000 steps a day.) Or, if you don’t use an app on your phone, you can sync it with your computer and see your data there.
Also throughout the day, you can tap on the FitBit and it illuminates lights to tell you how far along you are that day.
And then—this is the kicker—when you meet your goal, it gives you a huge high five by vibrating proudly on your wrist. I’ve come to really love that vibration! Last night, after a really long walk, it still hadn’t buzzed…and I was starting to think “Grrrrrr. What does a woman have to do to get a buzz around here?” I got back to the house after my walk, got some water, plopped down on the couch, and only when I reached for the remote control did it finally buzz.
That totally made me laugh.
Today, because I love my FitBit and I want to share them with the world, I’m giving away five (5) FitBit Flex bracelets, in the color of the winners’ choice.
Note: There are lots of different FitBits; I’m giving away the Flex, which is worn as a bracelet because I’m not responsible enough to remember to take things out of my pockets, off my waistband, or out of my bra.
I hope that wasn’t too personal.
